More about Physiotherapy!
Physiotherapy techniques aim to reduce pain, repair injuries and increase mobility through exercise, manual therapy (hands on treatment), and education. Physiotherapy can help people of all ages and is not only helpful during times of pain and injury but can also prevent musculoskeletal problems from arising in the first place.
All of our Physiotherapists have studied for a minimum of 3 years full time at University and have extensive knowledge of how to diagnose and manage a large range of musculoskeletal injuries (i.e. any pain or injury to the bones, tendons, ligaments, or muscles). Our Physio's also have expert knowledge to treat complex or chronic pain conditions that may be ongoing from an injury many years ago.
At Quay Kinetics Physio we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of care and go over and above to ensure you are well looked after.
Should you require any further investigations to confirm your diagnosis, such as x-rays or ultrasound scans we can liaise with your GP for you. We can also refer you to a specialist via your GP if necessary and we can even refer you for ultrasound guided injections if these were required.
We use a range of treatments tailored to meet your specific needs - this includes a personalised electronic exercise programme which you can access on any device to ensure you are completing your exercises correctly. Your physiotherapist will discuss other treatment options with you, so that you can work together to find the best treatment option for your recovery.
Physiotherapy is your tried and tested solution to all the problems listed above. You don’t need to struggle, instead invest in your health.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an appointment?
We have an easy online booking system that you can access here. If you’d prefer to speak with us then please feel free to contact via the email or form or give us a call!
Do I need a GP referral?
No you do not. As Chartered Physiotherapists we are autonomous practitioners who are qualified to assess and diagnose, therefore you can come directly to us and cut out the extra time and hassle of seeing your GP. If we think your GP should be involved in your care, we will discuss this with you as part of your personalised treatment programme.
Do you have a blog?
I do! We add to it every other week about injury tips, health & wellbeing, new research and more. You can read it right here on the website or sign up to our mailing list.
Where are you based?
Our treatment room is inside The Quay Climbing Centre. We are situated on the 1st Floor. The Quay Climbing Centre, Haven Road, Haven Banks, Exeter, EX2 8AX.
There is ample parking either on-street in Haven Road, or in the private car park next to the Ten Pin Bowling, or there is a council car park next to the Climbing Centre just off Michael Browning Way. You can see the various car parking via this link.
Should I book 30 mins or 1 hour?
Physiotherapy appointments last either 30 minutes for both initial assessments and follow-up appointments or you can choose an hour long extended session if you feel that your problem is more complex or you'd like to cover more than one issue.
Can I use my Health Insurance?
We are happy to provide you with a full receipt for you to take back to your insurer to claim payment back from them, however we do not invoice insurers directly on your behalf. We recommend that you liaise with your insurers stating that we are your 'preferred Physio provider' and then proceed to claim back from them, as we require payment upfront. If in doubt please speak to your insurance company.
