Matt is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with extensive postgraduate Master's level education and training in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Matt utilises his extensive experience across both NHS and private sector settings in South Wales and London, along with his advanced level of assessment, treatment and clinical reasoning in every clinical encounter to deliver the very best for each client's well-being.

Matt believes in empowering each person he works with to achieve their individual goals, no matter what they are. In his Musculoskeletal specialty, Matt provides high-quality, person-centred care, with individualised assessments and interventions. By integrating the latest scientific research into this approach, Matt collaborates in a holistic manner with each client through every stage of their rehabilitation journey.

These core principles mean that Matt is comfortable assessing, treating and rehabilitating a range of musculoskeletal problems from a viewpoint that considers not only the biological factors, but also the mental and personal impacts that pain and injury can have. Considering himself a highly-qualified generalist, Matt is confident in managing conditions in all areas of the body. That being said, he does have several areas of particular specialist interest. This includes comprehensive and complete pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, especially of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery, as well as other knee, hip, ankle, and other Lower Limb surgeries. Matt has had extensive experience collaborating with many of the leading Orthopaedic surgeons in London, and delivers a higher level of considered, multi-faceted reasoning and rehabilitation in pre- and post-surgical Physiotherapy management.

Matt's other clinical interests include Rheumatology, and more specifically the rehabilitation of Axial Spondyloarthritis. As a climber himself, he is also developing an interest in climbing injuries and rehabilitation, hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation.

Both Matt and his partner are from the West Midlands originally, and have moved to Exeter recently so they can enjoy all of the outdoor activities and countryside that Devon has to offer and is very excited to be working at Quay Kinetics Physio.
